Bao Sheng Durian Farm, Penang: Enjoy a Durian feast at this Balinese-inspired farmstay

Tucked away in the foresty hills of Penang island sits a pesticide-free organic durian farm retreat where you can spend your weekends chilling in their infinity pool, wake up to lovely views of the surrounding greenery and indulge in their homegrown kampung durians which come in bittersweet flavours with a unique numbing sensation.

If you’re coming for a couple retreat, we recommend their Passion Hut built with old recycled timber and glass. Here, you’re level with the top of the durian trees and can get a 180-degree view of the forest through their floor-to-ceiling tempered glass. Perfect for romantic sunset sessions, just the two of you!

Families will love their two-bedroom Family Villa, which comes with a balcony for that breath of fresh morning air!

Do WhatsApp them to check if the durians are in season before you book! They grow rambutans too!

Beverley Lennon: Aroused by raging rapids, perilous peaks and cheesecake. Beverley lives and breathes for travel and there is no way her wanderlust will ever be appeased. Born with feet in the water, many know her as the travel junkie, but feel free to refer to her as the luxury spots connoisseur or island specialist, both suit her very well. Her latest credit card statement could be proof of just how much she loves travelling the world. Besides collecting coins and notes from countries she visits, Beverley also collects tan lines!
