10 Affordable weekend girls’ getaways in Janda Baik and Bukit Tinggi (1 hour from Kuala Lumpur) with private pool for big-groups (6-30 pax)!

Are you and the family desperate for a taste of nature (especially considering the times)? Feel as if you’ve not only escaped city-life, but kind of like you’re not really in Malaysia anymore at this nature retreat in Taiping!

Done up in a retro-vintage vibe, the open and spacious set up is ideal for families or large groups travelling together sleeping up to 16 guests – so the whole famdam can come along!

The entire house is fully equipped – kitchen, bbq pit, living space and all, consisting of four levels, and we love the mix of old and new making it interesting for all ages. (Our favourite room is the full glass window one overlooking the lake! Dreamy for mom and dad.)

And as if the house itself wasn’t epic enough, there’s an observatory deck upstairs overlooking the lake – perfect for sundowners, watching the stars, morning yoga sessions or chilling out in the fresh air! Spend the day lazying around the lake, swimming, kayaking and there are also bicycles and boats for all guests to use.

Lastly, we need to give a shout out to Mother Nature herself, which in this particular location is just breath-taking (do go exploring and don’t forget to check out the outdoor tree by the lake filled with wild orchids, you can’t miss it).

Shannon Osztonits: I live to travel and I travel to live. I'm a traveling Gypsy with a passion for the English word, being inspired daily by the different cultures and colours, scents and scenic overloads, sensory explosions and mind-awakening experiences. The ones that take your breathe away. Walking along the earth, one country at a time, it's what I live for; a life full of adventure, sharing my thoughts and experiences through literature
